Electric Flesh exhibition
My aim was to create hyperpoetry - i.e. hypermedia with lyrical orientation. My notion is that there are at least three genres in interactive works that are analogous to those in litterature - there most certainly will be more once the artistic community truly takes off on hypermedia.
This piece was displayed as part of an installation where Aarre KŠrkkŠinen, Helena Okkonen and myself rigged the MUU gallery in Helsinki as a space equipped with an analogy of consciousness. The self-awareness and awareness of the external were done with surveillance cameras and monitors. My piece represented thoughts and ponderations of the space - that is why most of the material is captured and prepared. The texts are mostly in english apart from the german 'immer in der reihe bleiben' and the washing of head with finnish names of the mortal sins.
